Notes

Deus Vult's first recording with Aaron Thomas on vocals. This 13-song, November 1988 recording at Group Effort Studios in Erlanger, Kentucky, was recorded with all members playing together, but with each member separated and recording onto 24 tracks. This is NOT a Rehearsal demo as the incomplete version circulating the online claims (that version also includes 5 actual songs from this demo, and one demo song from the UltraSuede Studios 1990-1991 recordings, mislabelled as one of the songs actually from this demo).

Lyric sheets were also produced for this demo but very few were distributed outside the band.

"Instrumental Case" was originally intended to have lyrics and had the working title "Mark's Mosh", but was recorded without lyrics and renamed "Instrumental Case" by Mark Engel shortly after. The original "Mark's Mosh" lyrics are actually included on the lyric sheets as well.

The version of "Twilights Last Gleaming" recorded at Group Effort for this demo has many different lyrics then the widely-known Heavy Artillery compilation version (recorded several months later at Modern Recording Services in Cleveland). The original version (alongside "Paranoid Delusions" were penned by former Deus Vult singer Duane Harmon.
While much of Harmon's original lyrics are the same on the Heavy Artillery version many lines are changed, such as the opening line "From the silo's, missiles fly" which was originally "Thunderbombs, death rays on high" or the later lines "Nations trapped in bondage, crying, desperate for freedom. They cloud our vision with tears" which were originally "Things could be this bad in this part of the world, they'll make my blood disappear". The altered sections of lyrics were written by Aaron Thomas.
The Group Effort versions of "Brother's Keeper" and "Deus Vult" however, contain the same lyrics as their later re-recordings on "Soul Assault" in 1990.
