  • Along with Iron Chic, RVIVR were responsible for reigniting my interest in the more melodic side of punk after a period of several years that had seen my interest in the genre wane somewhat. RVIVR's s/t debut has some good tracks on it as do the early EPs (listen to The Joester Sessions LP for a useful compilation of the early recordings), but this record marks a major step up for the band. The songwriting is just so strong (I'm struggling to think of a recent album with a better opening trio than The Seam/LMD/Spider Song) and it feels like there's a better balance between Matty and Erica's vocals now. Give this album a try over on band camp then buy a copy, I can't recommend this highly enough. It's up there with Dillinger Four's Midwestern Songs of the Americas and Superchunk's No Pocky for Kitty in terms of records that I don't think I'll ever tire of.
