  • More samples than you can possibly handle. “Free” is basically a remake of “Free” (Deniece Williams’ debut hit from the mid-70s) strung-out with cut ‘n’ paste beats from Funkadelic, Rodney Franklin and a dozen other contemporary over-used samples. Dino 'Fingers' Ramirez Turbofunk Dub (purportedly by a well known producer who wants to keep his identity a mystery) rocks in all the right places, whilst Olav Basoski's Bodycheck Remix adds more vocals, filters en masses and hooks a plenty. Least we forget Armin Van Buuren's Discotizer Dub that at times boards on twisted disco. Currently a staple part of sets from Julesy, Goldy and Blocko - but disco-heads and filter fetishists shouldn't let that detract from the obviously huge potential this track has.
