Michael Harrison - In Flight download free

I am a dye in the wool electronic and jazz fusion fan and this is one of the few if only solo piano cds I own. As much as I enjoy jazz I do not own many solo jazz piano cds either. Why do I like this?Well the open track is exceptionally beautiful, melodic but not sappy and drenched in what I would call popular chordal movement. The Swan has Indian scales interwoven into arpeggiated lines and more western melodi-cism and again is amazingly uplifting music without really falling into the David Lanz/Yanno new age territory as this is NOT really new age music regardless of the label connection this is contemporary piano music without the blues influences(thank you Michael!).An avid listener can tune into the dynamic juxtapositions of rhythmic shifts within the compositions and smile knowing this is really wonderful music most people given the exposure would enjoy. This is engaging piano music in and of itself.Although recorded back in 1987 this cd doesnt sound dated one iota and a testament what can be composed on a piano without having to submit to contemporary compositional expectations.
